Subway Simulator New York

Historical WAPP project · rail simulator

Subway Simulator New York was the second city WAPP took on. It followed the Prague simulator on the same principle: the player is the driver, runs the line, and concentrates on the ride rather than on management.

Why New York

The New York subway is a rewarding setting for this genre. It is vast, it has a sound and a look of its own, and it is familiar even to people who have never been there. For a brand that started on Prague's line A it was the natural step outside the Czech Republic – and part of the reason players around the world came across WAPP's simulators at all.

Relation to the Prague simulator

Both titles shared the same focus on making the ride credible. The difference was mainly the setting and what makes each city distinct. As with the Prague version, the game was built when mobile technology was far more limited than it is today.

The game is no longer available

The title is not distributed and neither the original source files nor the content were preserved, so it cannot be re-released in its original form.
